There are several types of lawn mowers: manual push, electric, petrol-powered, and cordless battery-operated, each with their specific advantages and drawbacks. Electric mowers are quiet and eco-friendly, while petrol mowers offer more power for tackling larger lawns or thicker grass. Cordless lawn mowers combine the benefits of both, providing the freedom of movement without a power cord and lower emissions than petrol models.
When selecting a lawn mower in Fishponds, it is crucial to consider factors such as lawn size, grass type, and personal preferences. Important features to look for include cutting width, height adjustment options, ease of use, and stability. Additionally, consider whether you require additional functionality like mulching, bagging or side discharge.
With all these factors in mind, we've carefully assessed and compared an extensive range of lawn mowers to help you make an informed decision and choose the perfect fit to keep your lawn looking its best.
We've carefully selected the best lawn mowers on the market, taking into consideration the efficiency, durability and overall performance. Dive into our list to find the perfect lawn mower for your garden!
With an impressive combination of features and performance, the Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C Electric Lawn Mower is a worthwhile investment for first-time homebuyers with medium to large-sized gardens.
When it comes to mowing medium to large-sized gardens, this Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C stood out during our tests. Its lightweight design makes it easy to manoeuvre around obstacles and achieve precise results. Furthermore, the useful carry handle and simple-to-remove grass box make it a breeze to maintain and store away neatly.
One of the standout features we appreciated is the adjustable cutting height. With five settings ranging from 20 to 60 mm, it's easy to find the perfect height for our lawn. Even at a sound pressure level of 87 dB(A) at the operator's ear, we found this electric lawn mower to be quiet enough to not disturb neighbours.
On the downside, the mower's reliance on a corded electric power source can limit mobility, especially if you have a garden with limited access to power outlets. Additionally, the absence of a vision window makes it challenging to gauge if the grass box needs emptying. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C remains a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a simple, efficient, and affordable lawn mower.

Updated 5 hours agoFor small to mid-sized gardens, the Bosch Rotak 32R is a practical and efficient choice due to its solid performance and ease of use.
We've recently tried the Bosch Rotak 32R, and it does a fantastic job, especially in smaller gardens. The grass comb feature really stands out, as it easily trims along walls, flower beds, and lawn edges, giving the garden a neat and clean look.
The lawnmower is quite lightweight (6.8 kg) which makes it effortless to steer around obstacles and transport. This proved to be a great advantage when we had to navigate around tight corners or move the lawnmower between different sections of the garden. Despite its size, the Rotak 32R packs a punch with its powerful 1200W motor, which easily tackles tall grass and provides an even cut.
However, there are a few downsides to consider. The blade needs to be tightened before each use, which can be a bit of a hassle, and some users may find the noise level (79 dB(A)) to be bothersome. Additionally, the assembly instructions were a bit confusing, but with some patience, we managed to put it together. Overall, the Bosch Rotak 32R Electric Rotary Lawnmower is a solid choice for small and mid-sized gardens and offers excellent value for money.

Updated 5 hours agoConsider the Einhell GE-EM 1032 Electric Lawnmower if you're looking for a lightweight, manoeuvrable, and efficient mower for small to medium-sized lawns.
We recently used the Einhell GE-EM 1032 Electric Lawnmower and were impressed with how lightweight and easy to manoeuvre it was. The high torque carbon power motor and high-grade steel blades made quick and effortless progress even through thick grass. The 3-stage wheel cutting height adjustment allowed us to achieve the desired lawn look without any hassle.
While mowing, we noticed the 30L grass box tended to fill up quickly, especially when encountering taller or thicker grass. However, the fill-level indicator helped us know when it was time to empty the box, ensuring we didn't lose much time. We also experienced one wheel falling off during use, which required us to pause and reattach it; however, it wasn't a significant setback.
Unfortunately, the Einhell GE-EM 1032 struggled somewhat in mossy areas; nonetheless, it still managed to do the job for the most part. The height-adjustable folding handle made storage easy, and the 10m cord provided ample length for our gardening sessions. Considering its functionality and affordable price, we feel that this electric lawnmower is worth considering for those with small to medium-sized lawns.

Updated 5 hours agoIf you seek an efficient and easy-to-store lawn mower, the Flymo EasiStore 340R is your go-to choice.
Having just used the Flymo EasiStore 340R Electric Rotary Lawn Mower, we were genuinely impressed with its performance. The 1400W motor showed its prowess by tackling thick grass with ease, and the mower's adjustable height allowed us to achieve a clean, well-kept lawn. Additionally, the mower's large 35-litre grass box meant we didn't have to stop often to dispose of grass clippings, saving us valuable time and effort.
One aspect that may limit the Flymo EasiStore 340R's flexibility is its reliance on a 10m cable. This cable length may not cover larger garden areas, requiring users to utilise an extension lead. Although this may be a minor inconvenience for some, it's worth considering whether a cordless option would be more suitable for your garden's size and layout.
Despite its excellent performance, we have to report that some users received defective batteries upon purchase. Although this seems to be a rare occurrence, it's a downside that potential buyers should be aware of. Overall, the Flymo EasiStore 340R Electric Rotary Lawn Mower performs exceptionally well, with its powerful motor and ease of use making it an ideal choice for small to medium-sized gardens.

Updated 5 hours agoIf you're seeking a compact and manoeuvrable lawn mower, the Flymo EasiGlide 300 is undoubtedly worth your consideration.
A few days ago, we put the Flymo EasiGlide 300 to the test, and it proved to be a reliable lawn mower suitable for sloped and irregular shaped gardens. As a hover mower, it floats on a cushion of air, which enhances manoeuvrability and allows for effortless navigation around obstacles. Also, the 1700W motor and 30cm cutting deck can handle thick and dense grass, making it perfect for anyone seeking an effective mower.
Furthermore, the mower offers four cutting heights, ranging from 10 to 30mm. We adjusted the height quickly and easily, resulting in the desired grass length for our lawn. However, the 20L collection box, which collects and compacts as it cuts, needed frequent emptying, especially when dealing with a larger lawn area. Although the 10m cable offers decent flexibility, it may limit manoeuvrability if you have a bigger garden, so you might need an extension cable.
The Flymo EasiGlide 300 is not the most compact when it comes to storage, but the flat folding handles are a nice feature to save some space. Overall, the mower performed well for us, and we recommend it if you require a reliable and efficient hover lawn mower. Just be mindful of the cable length while using it and make sure you have sufficient storage space.

Updated 5 hours agoWhen it comes to selecting the perfect lawn mower, several factors should be considered to ensure you make a worthwhile investment. In this buying guide, we'll shed light on the key features and aspects that will help you make an informed decision.
Firstly, consider the type of lawn mower that would best suit your needs. There are three main types:
Reel Mowers: These are manually operated, and ideal for smaller lawns.
Rotary Mowers: Powered by either a petrol engine or an electric motor, these mowers are best for larger lawns and can handle a variety of grass lengths.
Ride-on Mowers: Designed for extensive lawns, ride-on mowers are more comfortable to use and provide a higher coverage rate.
Next, think about the power source that would best suit your needs. There are three main power sources for lawn mowers:
Power Source | Description |
---|---|
Manual | Affordable and eco-friendly, manual mowers require physical effort to operate. |
Electric (Corded) | Quiet and efficient, corded electric mowers require a power outlet and an extension cable. |
Electric (Battery) | These mowers offer the freedom of a cordless model and the ease of recharging batteries between uses. |
Petrol | Powerful and suitable for larger lawns, petrol mowers do require regular maintenance. |
Here are some additional features to pay attention to when selecting your lawn mower:
Cutting Width: A wider cutting width will cover more ground in less time, making mowing large lawns more efficient.
Height Adjustment: Look for a mower that offers a range of height settings, so you can adapt the cut to suit your lawn and weather conditions.
Collection Bag: A mower with an incorporated collection bag will save you time as it collects grass clippings during the mowing process.
Mulching Capability: Some mowers have the ability to finely chop grass clippings and redistribute them onto your lawn as a natural fertiliser.
By carefully assessing these factors and features, we hope you'll be well-equipped to choose the ideal lawn mower for your specific requirements.
